Caldicot Library is to inspire local youngsters by launching a monthly Chatterbooks reading group at 4pm on Friday 16th March. The Chatterbooks project aims to stimulate children of eight and nine years old to read adventurously, develop confidence in expressing their opinions, write stories and poems and have a good time talking about books.
Reading group members will receive a special Chatterbooks bag and can progress by collecting other materials including a reading diary and stickers.
Spaces are limited so Caldicot Library staff advise booking as soon as possible by telephoning 01291 426425. Each session is scheduled to last for an hour.
Cabinet member for culture, Councillor Giles Howard said: “This is a very exciting initiative that will benefit youngsters enormously, both now and in the future”.
