New RNLI lifeboat to be named at Burry Port

On Saturday (14 April) the Burry Port RNLI station will hold a service of dedication of its new D class lifeboat Diane Hilary. The service will start at 1pm at the boathouse at the east side of Burry Port marina.

The new boat will be officially handed over to the RNLI by the donor Mr David Coles of Walsall, West Midlands. Matt Crofts RNLI Deputy Divisional Inspector will accept the boat of the RNLI who will hand it over to the Burry Port station.

The lifeboat will be blessed in a service led by Rev Michael Wheatley. Priest in charge of The Parish of Burry Port with Pwll, assisted by other local ministers. After the blessing Mr David Cole will name the lifeboat.

Weather permitting, Diane Hilary will then be launched. Music for the ceremony will be provided by Burry Port Town Band and Burry Port Male Choir.
