New toilets at West Shore

Work is scheduled to start after Easter on building new public conveniences at West Shore.

The existing building, which is in very poor condition, will be demolished and replaced with a brand new 4 unit public convenience incorporating a disabled cubicle with baby change, and three cubicles, one of which has baby change facilities.  (A store room for the existing golf putting green will also be provided).

Work is scheduled to start after 12th April.

Cllr Mike Priestley, Conwy Cabinet Member for Environment said, “The aim is to provide a modern, fit for purpose public convenience at West Shore, which is one of the busiest facilities in the county.  To minimise disruption we’re waiting until after the busy Easter holiday before we start work.”

The Council is spending in the region of £100,000 on the work, which is expected to take about 4 weeks.

The cost will be ultimately recovered through a 20p charge to use the new toilets.  The charge will not apply to the disabled cubicle, which will be accessed using a RADAR key.
