No shows but still busy at Living Willow Theatre

The season is now well and truly over, although that doesn’t mean it’s gone quiet here at the theatre! We would like to take a moment to thank you all for your wonderful support in so many ways over the last year.

How thrilling it was to see all but two productions take place in the magical willow, even if the midges made us pay for the delight of being outdoors. We have identified a solution to the midge problem and are currently seeking funding!
We are now able to begin work on our nature trail which will reflectively link Shakespeare with the environment. Kama has worked hard to crystallise the vision and obtain the neccessary funding for some new gates, path edging etc.

The official opening date is planned for 15 May 2010, linking with the Rhayader By Nature project.

We wouldn’t be able to achieve half of what we do without the help of willing volunteers and the nature trail is no exception. We are holding an introductory day at the end of this month or the beginning of November to share ideas and hopefully put a volunteer team in place to help.

As you know, the environment is an important aspect of our work here, both in terms of conservation and informing our productions – as Shakespeare’s work was informed by the natural world around him.

We very much hope that some of you would like to be part of this project – we can offer some expenses – and if you would like to volunteer please phone or email us to register your interest (see number and address below). Then we can let you know about the Volunteer Day when a date has been set.
