The benefits of stopping smoking start almost immediately. After just 20 minutes blood pressure returns to normal and after 24 hours your lungs start to clear out the build up of tar. Within weeks your breathing will have improved. You will also have cleaner clothes and in a five year period a 20-a-day smoker will have saved more than £10,000.
