Following the service of an Urgent Works Notice, Denbighshire County Council has appointed a specialist contractor to carry out works on the original part of the main building of the former North Wales Hospital, Denbigh.
The contractor, Wye Valley Demolition Ltd, will start work on the 20th June and will be there for six months.
They will address problems such as timber decay, security concerns and leaking roofs. This will help save the building from further decay and potential collapse.
It is hoped that through this development, a new use can be found for the building.
The Council continue to work closely with other agencies to find a sustainable solution for this problem site.
