Eight delegates from the Tuscany region of Italy are currently visiting North Wales on a study programme looking at the successful Welsh agri-tourism and agri-food practices.
The group, which consists of farmhouse managers, university researchers, agricultural consultants, agricultural producers and entrepreneurs, is particularly keen to find out about the region’s use and marketing of locally sourced produce and why it is successful.
The delegation will be meeting with members of the Mold Food Festival, and representatives from Cadwyn Clwyd, Coleg Llysfasi and Tourism Partnership North Wales, as well as exploring the Rhug Organic Farm Estate, Caffi Florence in Loggerheads Country Park, and North Wales Buffalo in Halkyn as examples of best practice.
The visit is being hosted by ECTARC, the European Centre for Training and Regional Co-operation in Llangollen and is being funded under the European Union’s VETPRO programme.
VETPRO (Vocational Education and Training for Professionals), is aimed at giving people new skills and sharing best practice.
