Police in south Flintshire are actively targeting anti-social behaviour and are currently undertaking four proactive operations aimed at tackling alcohol-fuelled disorder across Saltney, Buckley, Hawarden and Ewloe and Mold.
Already first quarter crime figures from April to July show marked reductions in crime associated with anti-social behaviour in the area compared to the same period last year.

South Flintshire Inspector, Martin Best, said: “There are many agencies working together for the benefit of all communities across south Flintshire, including the Police, Fire and Rescue, the Health Service and the Probation and Crown Prosecution Services, as well as voluntary groups and the council.
“All of our partners have contributed to these encouraging figures.”
Flintshire County Councillor, Veronica Gay, said: ” I have witnessed at first hand, with officers on patrol, the benefits of partnership working and the community pulling together to achieve positive results.”
Community Protection Manager at Flintshire County Council, Mike Lovett said: “Flintshire County Council continues to work closely with North Wales Police undertaking joint visits to licensed premises with the clear aim of reducing alcohol related incidents.”
Meanwhile further crime figures comparing the first quarter of 2010 with the same period in 2009 reveal falls of:
- 10% in all crime
- 25% in serious violent crime
- 26.7% in anti-social behaviour
- 34.2% in domestic burglary
- 35.25 in criminal damage
- 28.1% in robbery, stolen vehicles, theft from vehicle, burglary other than domestic
Inspector Best added: “Neighbourhood Policing teams are working with local community safety partnerships and the council to make south Flintshire an even safer place to live.
Although the work we are carrying out continues all year round, over the next couple of weeks there will be particularly targeted operations and I will keep the community updated through the media.
” Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant Andy Massey said:” We will continue to work constructively with residents, businesses and our partner agencies to further reduce crime and disorder in south Flintshire.”
