Social Services, Health and Housing staff at Neath Port Talbot Council and external social care providers were congratulated for their commitment to learning at an awards ceremony last Friday (25th September).The Council’s Training and Development Section has organised the event to recognise and reward the academic success of many workers in the Directorate and within the Neath Port Talbot Care Sector.
The ceremony was held at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot, when the achievements of 625 staff were acknowledged.
The awards ceremony was divided by service area: Residential Care, Domiciliary Care, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Children and Young People Services, Housing and Building Services and Business Support.
Speakers at the event included Council Leader Ali Thomas, Rhian Huws-Williams Rhian Huws Williams CEO of Care Council for Wales and Tony Clements, Director of Social Services, Health and Housing.
Councillor Thomas said, “The Council prides itself on our excellent social care, health and housing services and our investment in staff training and development shows a commitment to maintaining and improving our high standards.
“Studying whilst working takes dedication and determination and I would like to congratulate everyone on their success.”
