A local man has become the first person to gain an NVQ in NVQ Level II Framework in Distribution and Warehousing, with a little help from Wrexham ITeC.
Karl Thomas from Rhos is the first person to complete this qualification since it was added to Wrexham ITeC’s portfolio of NVQ programmes 15 months ago.
Karl works for ASSIST Creative Resources Ltd, a company based on the Wrexham Industrial that specialises in distributing sports and fitness performance equipment.
As part of the course, Karl had to get his teeth into both academic and practical work, meaning he could get his accreditation while still working at ASSIST.
Claire Wright, a trainer and assessor for the ITeC commented on Karl’s relentless enthusiasm throughout the course: “Karl was consistently an enthusiastic learner who put his all into the work set for him each month. He was observed performing warehousing operations throughout his qualification and showed great pride in the work he did and the organisation he works for. Karl also showed a real flair for written work within his portfolio and again took great pride in the work he produced. We are delighted to have helped Karl progress in his career and education.”
Karl, himself, was equally full of praise for the ITeC: “I found the NVQ suited me down to the ground and the support I’ve received has been fantastic. I would recommend the ITeC to anyone who is thinking of increasing their qualifications and looking to study alongside work. I’m so pleased with what I’ve achieved that I’ve just signed up for further study with Level 3 Logistics Operations Management.”
As part of the Economic Development Department of Wrexham County Borough Council, Wrexham ITeC was established in 1983 as a self funding organisation with the prime purpose of contributing to the re-generation and support of the socio-economic infrastructure of the Wrexham.
