Swansea College has long been recognised as the Wales ‘hub’ for digital aerial installation training but now that success has been further highlighted with an official certification from the Registered Digital Installers Licensing Body [RDI-LB.]
“To achieve this, we had to satisfy exacting standards of teaching and learning,” says curriculum team leader Steve Williams. “In addition to that, the college had to prove it has all of the necessary technical equipment and resources to satisfy industry standards.”
The RDI-LB is the UK’s only official body to register licensed digital aerial and TV systems installers. Their scheme is backed by the Government and requires that every member becomes qualified and undergoes important checks.
“It’s essential to choose an installer who knows exactly what they are doing and who can deliver a high standard of workmanship,” adds RDI-LB Managing Director Martin Smith. “Registered installers are accredited with the widely recognised Digital Switchover Certification mark and have proven their ability to give good advice and work to the standards that we expect. We are delighted to work in partnership with Swansea College, training the next generation of digital engineers.”
