Montgomeryshire Assembly Member, Russell George, said he was ‘delighted’ at the news that Machynlleth and Welshpool will be included in the official Olympic touch relay route next year.
Commenting, Mr George said:
“This is fantastic news not only for the towns included but for all the residents of Powys who will have the opportunity to see the Olympic touch pass though their communities.
“An Olympic Games comes to a country once in a generation and I am sure there will be thousands of people lining the streets of Machynlleth and Welshpool, to stake their claim to a piece of sporting history.”
