Have you ground to a halt with your research? Wondering where to look next? Do you wish that Record Office staff had more time to listen to your research difficulties, discuss them with you and offer advice? Our friendly staff do their best to be helpful, but in a busy searchroom it can be difficult to give any one person the attention they may like.
If so, you might like to book a one-to-one consultation session with a member of Record Office staff. For a fee of £10 you will have the undivided attention of a member of staff for half an hour to discuss your research and possible lines you might follow. These sessions are a new service offered by the Record Office and will take place in the searchroom on a Monday morning at 9.30am, beginning on Monday 16 April 2012.
It is designed to be a one-to-one session, but if two people, who are working together on the same research, want to come together, that’s fine. The charge will remain the same – £10 per session. It is not designed to be a group session, however, so any more than two may attract an additional fee.
If you wish to take advantage of this service, please contact the Record Office on 01244 532364 to book your session. Only one session will take place each Monday, so please book well in advance to be sure of getting in on your chosen day. It must be booked before 4pm on the preceding Friday at the very latest.
Please give details of your query when booking, to save time on the day, so that staff can help you as efficiently as possible in the time available. We look forward to helping you further with your research enquiries.
