Following the 2011 annual Open Art competition at Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery, Bangor, this special exhibition offers an extended opportunity to view some of the works which were selected. It will be held until 26 June at Oriel Pendeitsh.
This is the sixteenth successive year for the competition to be held, giving a fantastic opportunity to showcase artwork which includes paintings, printmaking, drawings, photography and some sculpture.
Delyth Gordon, Gwynedd Council Visual Arts Officer said: “This annual exhibition at Bangor is going from strength to strength and we are delighted that we are able to host part of the ‘Open Art’ exhibition at Oriel Pendeitsh. The exhibition is a great opportunity for the public to view the variety and standard that the Open Art attracts. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the work.”
A panel of selectors decided on the final exhibition from nearly 270 entries. This year the selectors’ prize went to to Annwen Burgess from Bethesda for her pair of paintings entitled ‘Miri Mali’ and ‘Welingtons Newydd’.
