Open House will be held at Newport’s Civic Centre on Wednesday 4 May from 2 – 8pm.
The event is aimed at providing information and advice to anyone who owns an empty residential property to help them bring it back into use.
Representatives from council services including Environmental Health, Planning, Building Control and the Housing team will be available. There will also be outside experts on hand to advise on how to find a builder, why you might consider selling your property at auction, how to make your property more energy-efficient, and what your financial options might be.
From 6 – 7 pm, there will be presentations on how to become an accredited landlord, what it’s like to be a landlord, and what the Charter Options Lettings Agency can offer. Other services represented will include ethical house clearance, garden maintenance, a housing association leasing scheme, and property guardian services.
