Outstanding volunteers from across Caerphilly county borough have been recognised for the valuable voluntary work they undertake in the local community.
This year’s Voluntary Sector Achievement Awards, run by Caerphilly County Borough Council and GAVO, attracted entries from people of all ages, from all sections of the community.
An awards evening, hosted by the Mayor, Cllr Vera Jenkins took place at Caerphilly County Borough Council’s headquarters, Penallta House recently, where the winners were congratulated and presented with their awards.
Cllr Vera Jenkins said, “This wonderful event helps to recognise the invaluable voluntary work carried out by so many volunteers right across Caerphilly county borough. This year’s nominations once again highlighted the dedication and commitment of this very special group of people”.

- Supreme Volunteer – Pam Smith
Pam Smith from Treowen in Newbridge was crowned Supreme Volunteer for her dedication to volunteering, as she has been fully involved with running a cub scout pack for more than 30 years.
The Voluntary Sector Achievement Awards were once again this year sponsored by the Campaign Newspaper and Gwent Police, and administered by the Caerphilly County Borough Voluntary Sector Liaison Committee in association with Caerphilly County Borough Council and Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations.
