A free park and ride service will operate again this year for people travelling to Mountain Ash for the Nos Galan Races on New Year’s Eve.
A shuttle bus will run every 10-15 minutes from 3.30pm until 9.30pm from Mountain Ash Comprehensive School, with drop off and return collection from the bus stop outside the Aberdare Hotel, near the town bridge.
Anyone travelling to the event is urged to use this free service at the school site, due to restricted parking in the town centre. The car parking area will be staffed by Nos Galan stewards.
Andrew Morgan of the Nos Galan committee, who organise the event, said: “The races attracted almost 10,000 people to the town centre last year and we are expecting similar numbers this year. So we would ask people travelling from outside the town to please use the free shuttle service.”
Mountain Ash Comprehensive School is about one mile north of Mountain Ash in New Road on the A4059. Please follow the AA signs on the A4059 to the parking area. Please note that the parking area will be staffed by security staff and Nos Galan stewards
The annual 5km races include a fun run and competitions for elite runners and boys and girls. For more information visit the Nos Galan pages at http://www.nosgalan.co.uk/
