Responding to today’s figures that show unemployment in Wales has fallen slightly, Eluned Parrott, Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Business Minister commented:
“Again we are seeing employment figures gradually moving in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go.
“The Welsh Liberal Democrats know that what matters to people is not abstract numbers and for everyone currently looking for a job it can be a real struggle and often hugely demoralising.
“A big challenge facing both governments is to tackle youth unemployment, which in Wales remains stubbornly high and is something that the Welsh Government urgently needs to address.
“We want to see Welsh businesses thrive and have the confidence to take on more staff. For that to happen, we need both the UK and Welsh Government working constructively together for the people of Wales.”
