Resolven PCSO Darren Thomas has been given access to his local community centre.
He has been handed the keys to Resolven Community Centre which he can now use as a base and a meeting place.
PCSO Thomas said: “Resolven Community Council has kindly provided a key to the Glynneath Neighbourhood Policing Team for us to use the community centre.
“In doing this the centre can now be used as a police sub-station where we will be able to work from when we are conducting our patrols in the village.”
The centre can also be used as a venue for PACT meetings or multi-agency meetings with our partners concerning local issues that affect the community.
PCSO Thomas added: “I am very grateful to the community council for providing me with a key to use the facilities in the centre.
“I have already hosted a PACT Surgery for the public to discuss current issues in the ward and more are planned for the future.
“It is a great tool to have when policing an area such as Resolven and has resulted in myself and the rest of the Neighbourhood Policing Team conducting more patrols in the area, therefore reassuring the public.”
