Pembrokeshire rewards cream of its youth

Pictured below are some of the young people from Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard, who attended the evening.

Young People from schools across Pembrokeshire attended a presentation evening recently to receive their Prince’s Trust XL Awards.

Scarlets rugby players Dominic Day and Phil John were the special guests for the awards held in County Hall, Haverfordwest.

The awards scheme – facilitated by Pembrokeshire Youth’s team of school based youth workers – offers young people the opportunity to undertake a course of study which involves them in working together to achieve goals relating to their education, training and future lives.

The young people were presented with their certificates by the Chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Councillor John George, and the Director of the Prince’s Trust Wales, Rick Libbey.

Also attending the presentation evening to witness the young people’s achievement were: Councillor David Pugh (Council Vice- Chairman; Councillor Huw George (Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Learning and the Welsh Language); Gerson Davies (Director of Education); Anne Wakefield (Head of Lifelong Learning and Development); Kate Jenkins (Community Manager for the Scarlets) and Gerry O’Sullivan (XL programme manager).
