People’s choice artist receives award

Following the annual Open Art competition at Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery, Bangor, members of the public who attended the exhibition had the opportunity to pick their favourite for the “People’s Choice” award.

This year, the artwork that received the most votes was ‘The Boss’, a pastel drawing of a ram, by Christine Sale of Holywell.

She recently received her award from Mrs Anne Cooke, wife of the late Maurice Cooke a former Senior Lecturer in the History of Art at Bangor University. The award was donated by the Friends of Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery.

Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery is open Tuesday-Friday, 12.30-4.30pm; Saturday 10.30am-4.30pm. Admittance free.
