Newport’s library service has come up with some hot tips for holiday reads this summer.
Did you know that if every resident in the city bought three books to take away on holiday with them the total bill would be more than £2 million and if they all purchased a travel guide it would cost £1,400,000?
But these could be borrowed for free from the city’s libraries which have a wide range of travel guides and phrase books as well as novels set in popular destinations.
An adult can take out up to 20 items and get a holiday extension if the books are due back during the time they are away. They can also be renewed over the phone or online.
Here are some suggestions from the service for some apt holiday reading.
