Plaid Cymru Leader Ieuan Wyn Jones issued a message of remembrance as the 10 year commemorations of the 9/11 terrorist attacks continue.
Mr Jones said that his thoughts were with those who lost family members in the attack on the World Trade Centre twin towers in New York in 2001. He said that he hopes that the anniversary of the attacks can provide new impetus for achieving peace throughout the world.
Following his final annual Conference speech as Plaid Cymru Leader, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM said:
“My thoughts are with all those whose lives were touched by the events on September the 11th 2001.
“The events of that day have left an indelible mark on us all, and the world has no doubt learnt new lessons about the need to live together as understanding and tolerant neighbours.
“I hope the anniversary of the 2001 atrocities can provide new impetus for all nations on earth to work together to achieve peace.”
