Following the death of North Wales AM Brynle Williams, Plaid Cymru Leader Ieuan Wyn Jones said:
“Brynle’s passing will be a matter of great sadness across all political parties.
“I will remember his infectious enthusiasm as an AM and as a thoroughly honourable and decent man. He was an exemplar of a man who represented his community in the National Assembly and made a great contribution to ensuring that the people of the north east in particular felt a part of Wales’ developing democracy.
“Our thoughts are with all of Brynle’s family and friends at this time.”
Plaid Cymru’s rural affairs spokesperson Elin Jones said:
“Brynle was a gentleman and a passionate advocate for rural communities. As his party’s spokesperson for rural affairs, he was always constructive and friendly in his contributions. He did his utmost to hold the future of our rural communities above confrontational party politics. Welsh politics has lost one of its few rural champions.
“I worked with him as an opposition member and as a minister and I always respected his view and his passion on all matters. “I’m sure that people from all parties consider themselves very fortunate to have worked with Brynle. I will miss him greatly.”
