A bus service for local residents is facing closure by the end of the year due to a shortage of volunteer drivers.
Towyn Residents Association runs a local bus service for disabled and elderly residents of the community, but a shortage of volunteer drivers may force the Association to withdraw the service by the end of the year.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar is urging helpers to come forward to ensure that the service can continue. Speaking following a meeting with members of Towyn Residents Association, Darren said:
‘Towyn Residents Association offers an invaluable service for elderly and disabled residents in the local community.
‘The bus service helps people get to the shops or to the pharmacy to collect their medicine – everyday tasks which we all take for granted but can be difficult for some.
‘We need more volunteer drivers to come forward to save the service and I would urge anyone who feels they might be able to help out and volunteer to contact Towyn Residents Association.’
