Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has urged the First Minister to preserve the future of two Communities First schemes in Conwy.
Future funding for Communities First projects is currently under review by the Welsh Government. Speaking in questions to the First Minister yesterday, Darren Millar urged the First Minister to continue funding for schemes in based in Kinmel Bay and Colwyn Bay.
Darren said:
‘The Communities First projects in Colwyn Bay and in Kinmel Bay are excellent schemes which are making a real difference to the quality of life for local residents.
‘I want to see these schemes continue to flourish but that can only happen with a continued commitment from the Welsh Government.
‘I urged the First Minister to end the uncertainty over future funding and preserve Communities First schemes in Strategic Regeneration Areas. As both Kinmel Bay and Colwyn Bay are in the North Wales Coast Strategic Regeneration Area, this would mean their funding would be secure going forward.
‘I’ll be fighting to ensure the future of these schemes is assured.’
