Plenty Of Holiday Fun In Tonyrefail

Plenty of holiday fun is in store for children in Tonyrefail thanks to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Services For Young People.

A Four Seasons Holiday Club will be held during the Easter break with plenty of fun for children aged between three and 11 in a happy and safe environment surrounded by a whole host of activities.

Arts and crafts, cooking, games, computer consoles and day trips are just some of the highlights of the childcare holiday provision which will take place at Tonyrefail’s Four Seasons Activity Centre.

Established with funding from the Community Focused School Childcare, the need for a Holiday Club in Tonyrefail during the school break was identified through the Council’s Childcare Sufficiency Audit parent questionnaires sent to all primary schools in the area.

Following close liaison with the Council’s Out of School Hours Learning Co-Ordinator, the Holiday Club is being run in conjunction with the Four Seasons Centre on Heol y Glyn to plan and advertise holiday provision during the school holidays. The first took place in October Half Term last year.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning Cllr Eudine Hanagan, who is also the ward member for Tonyrefail West, said she welcomed this additional service by the Council.

“Clearly the need for additional holiday provision was identified in the locality after the questionnaire was sent to parents of children in the Tonyrefail Cluster Area,” she explained.

“Following lengthy planning and consultation by our Services for Young People, working with Four Seasons Activity Centre, the Holiday Club will provide plenty of enjoyable and exciting opportunities for children during the Easter break.

“Not only will the children themselves benefit from the programme of activities, but it allows parents peace of mind that their children are in safe and caring hands.”

Four Seasons Holiday Club takes place from April 18th to 21st 2011 from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Parents need to pre book places by ringing Claire Williams at Four Seasons.

The cost for the four days is £52.00 which have been kept as low as possible to help low income families.  They are also able to claim the cost through child tax credits if they are eligible for these.
