Pobol y Cwm nominated for Stonewall award

Welsh language soap opera Pobol y Cwm, broadcast on S4C and produced by BBC Cymru, has been shortlisted at this year’s Stonewall Awards.

The soap, which celebrates its 35th birthday this year, has been nominated in the Broadcast of the Year category for its positive portrayal of gay characters, Iolo, played by Dyfan Rees and Gwyneth, played by Llinor ap Gwynedd.

The fourth Stonewall awards ceremony, an annual fixture in the gay and lesbian calendar, takes place at the V & A Museum in London on Thursday, 5 November and is hosted by television personality Gok Wan.

S4C’s daily magazine series Wedi 7 will report from the red carpet at 7.00pm on Thursday , where Dyfan Rees, Llinor ap Gwynedd and Pobol y Cwm associate producer Llŷr Morus will be interviewed.
