Police appeal for witnesses in Denbigh

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 50 year old woman was assaulted in her home in Crud-y-Castell, Denbigh, yesterday morning between 8.30am and 9.20am.

Following the attack the woman was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan, with serious head injuries and is now recovering in hospital.

Detective Inspector Martin Davies said that they were treating the incident as an aggravated burglary and are anxious to trace a man who is described as being a white male about 30 years of age with an English accent. He was about six foot tall wearing glasses and dressed in a black jacket and trousers and wearing a black beanie type hat.

DI Davies said there was also a small quantity of cash taken from the house.

He said: “We are anxious to speak to anyone who might have seen this person or who has any information about this incident to contact the police.

“Incidents of this nature are very rare and we are determined to catch the person responsible. Increased patrols are being conducted in the area to provide reassurance and to assist the investigation.”
