South Wales Police is continuing to investigate two robberies in the Neath Port Talbot area which happened within 10 days of each other.
The first incident happened at the Coral betting office on Briton Ferry Road, Neath at about 7.50pm on Saturday 24th July. The male suspect entered the premises and made threats and demanded money from a 24 year female member of staff, he later fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
He was later seen to make off in the direction of Stockham’s Corner.
The second robbery occurred at 9.52am on Wednesday 4th August at the Ladbrokes betting office on Dalton Road, Port Talbot. The 27 year old female victim was opening the premises when she was attacked and physically restrained by the male suspect. She was dragged into the shop where she was forced to open the safe, shortly after the culprit grabbed a quantity of cash and left.
Police have previously released a CCTV image of a man believed to be responsible for the Dalton Road robbery.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Davies said: “Following our recent media appeals we had an excellent response and I would like to thank the public for their help in this investigation so far.
“A suspect has been identified and the public can be assured that we are working to trace and arrest this individual.
“I would urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of the man in the CCTV image to come forward. Our advice to him would be to hand himself in to the police as a matter of urgency.”
