North Wales Police helicopter flew a teenager to hospital after she was taken ill 2000 foot up a mountain in Snowdonia.
The crew were called at 11.10 today after receiving a call that a 17 year old girl, in a group of seven on the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, became unwell as they were walking on the Carneddau.
Despite poor weather, the helicopter, which is adapted for carrying stretchers, managed to land. The crew administered first aid and ferried the teenager to Glan Clwyd Hospital where she was treated for breathing difficulties.
The rest of the party was led to safety down the mountain by a member of the helicopter crew and the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team.
