Police Investigate Burglaries in Swansea

South Wales PolicePolice in Swansea are appealing for information following a number of burglaries in the Uplands, Brynmill and Sketty areas of the city.

Investigations into the burglaries are continuing and police patrols are being carried out to prevent and detect any further offences.

The latest incidents happened during the afternoon of Monday 24th March at Brynymor Crescent and Bryn Road, where an intruder was disturbed in a multi-occupancy house.

The suspect is described as being male, white, aged mid to late 20s, around 5ft8ins in height, of slim build with light brown coloured hair and was wearing a black body warmer with a navy long sleeved top underneath.

A similar incident took place at Brynymor Crescent when the suspect was disturbed and made off with a games console from a communal lounge of a multi-occupancy house.

Due to the time and location of the two incidents and similar description of the suspects, they are being linked.

Detective Inspector Darren George of Swansea CID said: “We are seeing an increase in burglaries in the Uplands, Brynmill and Sketty areas of Swansea.

“Each burglary is being thoroughly investigated and we are maximising every forensic opportunity in order to trace those responsible.

“I would once again remind residents, particularly the residents of multi-occupancy houses in these areas, to ensure windows and doors and kept secure as this will remove the opportunity for any burglar.”

Anyone who sees any suspicious activity in these areas should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
