A junior football tournament held on Anglesey has been hailed a big success by organisers.
Eight teams from local schools took part in the event which was held at Llangefni football club ground and hopes are high that it will be repeated in 2011.
One of the organisers was PCSO Sarah Williams who said that they had been delighted with the response.
She said: “I spoke to the local schools after the event and they all said they had enjoyed the day and were looking forward to next year’s tournament.
“It was a really good event and thanks need to go to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
“We would like to thank Val Richards, the events organiser at Asda, Llangefni, who held a fun day and barbecue to raise money towards the event. Lidl also supplied us with refreshments on the day and Llangefni football club allowed us to use their field.
“We would also like to thank Ieuan Williams who took photographs on the day and two police cadets, Dion Roberts and Catlin McGonigle who helped with the refereeing and organising of the games,” she said.
Among the other officers who organised the event were PC289 Dave Webster, PC 2173 Kevin Taylor and PCSO’s 2832 Geraint Williams.
