Port Talbot RNLI volunteers complete extensive first aid course ready to save lives at sea

Ten volunteer crew and trainee crew member at Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat Station have just completed an extensive first aid course, run by the RNLI Mobile Training Unit.

Being trained to the highest standard is incredibly important for the volunteer crew members who joined the RNLI to help save lives at sea.

To ensure that their skills are kept up-to-date, new and revision courses are normally carried out every three years so that at all station crew are fully qualified. The course meets all the necessary criteria approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and is recognised by the British Paramedic Association and the Anaesthetic, Trauma and Critical Care Association.

The RNLI is a charity and are able to provide training and equipments for the voluntary crew members thanks to the donations and support from the public.
