Port Talbot inshore lifeboat was tasked at 12.40 yesterday morning (Monday 18 April) after emergency services were alerted by the mother of a young male who had great concerns about the safety of her son.
Port Talbot inshore lifeboat was launched and searched the sea along the 2.5 mile beach, while both Port Talbot and Mumbles Coastguard searched along the beach and the adjacent sand dunes. The local police helicopter was also involved together with foot patrol officers, who concentrated on the local area.
After two hours the male had not been found and all services were stood down.
Shortly after the lifeboat had returned to station, the police located the individual, who was unharmed.
