Port Talbot inshore lifeboat (ILB) was called out on last Friday (25 March) at 2:20pm after the coastguards received a Pan Pan message that a vessel was in difficulty, possibly run aground at the mouth of the River Neath.
Port Talbot ILB was tasked to assist and possibly tow vessel but on arrival casualty was well aground and the owner had walked ashore. Port Talbot inshore lifeboat could not assist in any way and returned to station. This was the second time in 5 weeks the vessel had run aground. Port Talbot coastguards who were on scene interviewed the owner.
