In the run up to the festive season legendairy ice cream makers Ben & Jerry’s have travelled the land in search of the most remarkable panto cows in a quest to find the ultimate bovine thespian this Christmas – and making it into the top five list is Dave from the Porthcawl’s Grand Pavillion’s production of Jack & The Beanstalk.
Having scoured the nation’s stages, Ben & Jerry’s think they’ve found five that are udderly and undeniably the cream of the pantomime crop. Tough criteria included; dance skills, improvisation, stage presence, style and cow quirkiness.
Now it’s your turn to vote for Dave by watching his showreel and reading her online biog to help decide which beautiful bovine is worthy of a suitably cool prize! All cows in the running are as follows:
Daisy: Dark brown eyes, caramel brown coat and orange bow
She’s been hoofing the boards for years at The Stag theatre in Sevenoaks and her on screen idols include Marylin Moonroe and Tom Moos. One day she’d like to open up her own dance school and cowordinate performances for the Caring Dairy herd.
Dave: Moovellous blue coat with hot pink spots, orange legs and blue feet
Dave is a rare pink & blue Friesian and is currently undertaking a gruelling training regime to moo-tivate himself for his performance at the Porthcawl Grand Pavilion. Outside of Ben & Jerry’s Caring Dairy, Dave is the most active cow we know.
Clarabelle: Beautiful black & white Friesian, long eyelashes and a spotted cap
As her name suggests, Clarabelle is one of our most beautiful bovine buddies. She works in the box office at the Kings Lynn Corn Exchange Theatre and serves mince pies and snacks during the intervals but dreams of acting on the big stage and rubbing hooves with famoose faces.
Buttercup: Black & white Friesian who likes a bit of bling and sometimes sports a bandana round her neck
Buttercup is no average panto cow…in fact we’d say she’s Fairly Nuts! She was reared in the big smoke of South London and fancies herself more streetwise than most rural born Friesian thesps. She’s currently appearing at the Hackney Empire, London, where she will be showcasing her biggest talent; street dancing and boy can she moove those hooves – udderly spectacular!
Ermentrude: Camel-coloured, long nose and a solid gold neck bell
Ermentrude is an udder prima donna of the bovine world. The most glamourous of the line up, her icon is Swirly Bassey and she loves nothing more than singing into an empty Cookie Dough tub to em-moo-late her idol. She is always inundated with autograph requests and asks for freshly cut grass in her private dressing stall at the Darwen Library Theatre.
We’re appealing to all flavour fans to vote for your favourite by hoofing over to www.benjerry.co.uk or checking out our Facebook page (www.benjerry.co.uk/facebookpantocow)
Check out the festive Friesians on show and make your voice herd. Hooves crossed for the best panto cow!
