After the success of the hilarious Potted Potter, CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff bring Potted Pirates, their newest compressed caper, to Theatr Mwldan on Friday 4 June. In search of talking parrots and mysterious buried treasure, they’ll be telling all sorts of tall tales of the seven seas.
Dan and Jeff have presented the main children’s programming on BBC1 in the afternoons for the last two years. Having broken free of the broom cupboard for a little while, they are delighted to have more time to take their live shows out on the road!
Everything you need to know about pirates in an hour, whether real life buccaneers or Jack Sparrow are your cup of tea, Dan and Jeff recount piratical adventures on the high-seas from William Dampier and Blackbeard’s biographies to swash-buckling fiction like Treaure Island. They also promise a full-scale, fully interactive re-enactment of the Spanish Armada, featuring thirty characters in full costume. Will Dan persuade Jeff to let him play Jack Sparrow? And how will Jeff keep things ship-shape with that scallywag aboard?
A perfect treat for the young and young at heart, Potted Pirates includes song, dance, lightning-fast scene changes and colourful costumes, not to mention endless inventive props from peg-legs, patches and parrots to a bag of balls!
Potted Pirates is recommended for shipmates aged six to Davey Jones (who is very old indeed). Even those who don’t know their shipping forecast from their sea shanty. Get dressed up and get into the spirit of it! The show on Friday 4 June stars at 3.00pm – book your tickets now by calling 01239 621200 or go to www.mwldan.co.uk and shiver your timbers straight down to Theatr Mwldan for a fantastic time!
