25 year old Christopher Jones who failed to return to HMP Prescoed on Saturday 12th March has been arrested in the Merthyr Tydfil area.
He has been charged with being absent without leave and is due to appear before Caerphilly Magistrates court today, Tuesday 15th March.
Gwent police took immediate action after being notified that the he failed to return to prison and the operational plan was activated to locate him.
