NBPA cabinet and AM Vaughan Gething
The President of the National Black Police Association (NBPA) Franstine Jones visited Cardiff Bay Police Station on Thursday 15th May to host the NBPA cabinet meeting.
The cabinet was joined by Police and Crime Commissioner Alun Michael and Cardiff South and Penarth Assembly Member Vaughan Gething.
Franstine who is first woman and police staff member to be elected President of NBPA shared joint aims and diversity objectives and discussed how they will be best implemented.
Chief Inspector and NBPA General Secretary Jay Dave said:
“I’m really pleased the president of the NBPA was able to bring her cabinet to South Wales Police. We are proud of the diversity work we have done and still do in this force, so we can be the best at understanding and responding to our communities needs.
We were pleased that our Police and Crime Commissioner and Minister Vaughan Gething AM were able to take part in the meeting, allowing us to keep up the pace of our Forces’ diversity work”
Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, Alun Michael said:
“I was delighted to meet the cabinet members from the National Black Police Association; it provided me with the opportunity to discuss diversity in the communities in which we police on a daily basis.”
