Presenting the group with their award, Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar said:
“This is a fantastic achievement and a worthy acknowledgement of the Pensarn and Belgrano Resident’s Association’s inspirational efforts. The group have worked tirelessly to clear up Pensarn Beach and improve other areas in the community and I hope their efforts will inspire others to volunteer and to lead in improving our local environment for a long time to come.
“I hope that the group will continue to go from strength to strength. ”
A representative of the Resident’s Association said:
“We were all very excited and somewhat shocked to have won, as we consider ourselves to be very new at all of this.”
“Our beach is very important to us and we all enjoy our Litter Picks even when the weather is unkind to us. Old or not, young at heart does it for us and the feeling that we are doing something to be proud of in our local community keeps us committed.”
