Hundreds of prospective students descended on Cardiff University yesterday (Friday 9th September) in a bid to gain more information about the courses on offer, meet staff and students and tour the University’s cutting-edge facilities.
Cardiff University’s Visit Day is designed around students who intend to make their university decisions and apply this autumn. Staff from all of the University’s academic schools were on-hand throughout the day in a central exhibition area in the University’s Student Union to discuss options, and a series of organised talks covering the UCAS application process, student finance, residences and careers.
Visitors were also be given the chance to tour the University’s Cathays Park Campus, take a look inside Halls of Residence, sports facilities and the Students’ Union, and find out more about student life in Cardiff.
David Roylance, Cardiff University’s Head of Undergraduate Recruitment & Widening Access said: “Cardiff University’s Visit Day is designed to give those students thinking of applying to University next year an overview of Cardiff University and provide vital information about the UCAS process.
“We experienced an unprecedented level of demand for this year’s Visit Day and the day was quickly fully booked. For those students who unfortunately missed out there are still other opportunities to visit and get more information.
“Our annual Open Day will be held in April 2012. It is also possible to visit the University independently. You can call into the Undergraduate Recruitment Office to collect an information pack which will include a self guided campus tour guide which you can use to take your own tour of the Cathays Park,” he added.
