Public meeting to discuss future of rural school

A public meeting has been arranged to discuss local resident’s concerns over the future of Ysgol Betws Gwerfil Goch.

Denbighshire County Council has launched a public consultation on the future of primary schools in the Dee Valley area. Under the proposals a number of primary schools could close, including Ysgol Betws Gwerfil Goch. Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has organised a public meeting at the school to ensure that local residents have their say on the Council’s proposals. A representative from Denbighshire County Council will attend the meeting.

Darren said:

‘I’ve been inundated with representations from parents, teacher and governors concerned about these proposals.

‘Ysgol Betws Gwerfil Goch is the heart of the local community and is a fantastic school. Concerned parents, teachers and governors all oppose the proposal to close the school and I’ve arranged this public meeting to ensure that local resident’s concerns are heard loud and clear by the decision makers at Denbighshire County Council.

‘I would encourage as many people as possible to turn up and have their say.’
