A public meeting to discuss safety concerns relating to one of Towyn’s main roads will held next week.
Assembly Member for Clwyd West, Darren Millar, is calling for action to address a number of safety issues on Gors Road, Towyn. He has arranged a public meeting next week for concerned local resident to air their concerns regarding the safety of the road and is encouraging as many people as possible to attend.
Darren Millar said:
‘Over the years, a number of constituents have contacted me with safety concerns regarding Gors Road and I have been working hard to see these issues addressed.
‘In spite of Gors Road providing the main route to and from Towyn for visitors – many of whom come with touring caravans – the visibility and width on certain sections of the road are poor and this has led to many accidents, some of which have been fatal.
‘Although unsuitable, it is also provides the main evacuation route in the event of a flooding incident.
‘I would encourage anyone with an interest in the safety of the road to attend this meeting. Those who are unable to attend but want to submit their views and keep posted on progress should contact my office on 01745 839117.’
The public meeting will be held on Monday 25th October at 11am in North Coast Church, Gors Road.
