Coastal rangers are asking the public to avoid walking along the cliff line in Flint as recent tidal surges have left it weakened and subject to collapse.
Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment said:
“We have shut the gates and put up signs to let people know which section is closed. In the past fences and signs have been torn down so we are asking people to be aware and to follow the public footpath until further notice. Access around Flint foreshore is unaffected by this.”
The coastal rangers are asking for continued support from the public to avoid the cliff line until a full survey of the damage has been conducted.
In the light of recent high tides and winds people are reminded to stay away from sea-fronts and exposed coastal paths.
