Residents and businesses in and around Newtown are being urged to attend a public exhibition next month where the preferred plans for the route of the town’s bypass will be displayed.
Montgomeryshire AM, Russell George, said the event on the 8th April was an important opportunity for people to see the route, ask questions and raise any concerns with Welsh Government officials and representatives of the contractors Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd.
“The Newtown bypass is an important development for residents, businesses and visitors and this will be a crucial exhibition, providing an opportunity to see the Welsh Government’s preferred route and to discuss the plans with officers and contractors involved,” said Mr George.
“Whether you’re directly affected by the planned road or just have an interest as a resident or business, I’d urge people to take time to visit the exhibition and to see what it’s all about and it’s impact on the town.”
He added: “The new bypass will help to alleviate the horrendous traffic congestion we have to put up with on a daily basis. But it will also bring new opportunities for businesses and visitors, providing economic opportunities for the town and the wider community.”
The public exhibition will take place between 10am and 8pm on 8th April at The Elephant and Castle Hotel in Broad Street, Newtown.
