The young members of a Tenby Book Club came face to face with a local author recently.
Pupils from the Year 6 Book Club at St Teilo’s RC school met Welsh writer Dan Anthony to celebrate Welsh Libraries Festival Week – 20th to 30th January.
The young book lovers meet every fortnight at Tenby Library to talk about the works they are reading and to compare notes on their favourite authors.
The scriptwriter and author was invited to a Book Club session to listen to the children discussing his first work, The Rugby Zombies.
Published by Gomer Press, the book features a team of undead Welsh rugby players!
“Club members had read the book beforehand and so had many good questions to ask about the characters and for tips on how to become a writer,” said Anita Thomas, Pembrokeshire County Council Principal Librarian (Development).
“It was a very successful event and the children can’t wait to read the next Rugby Zombies book that is due out in September.”
