Youngsters from schools across Denbighshire will be taking centre stage in an opportunity of a lifetime – performing in a professionally staged opera.
Members of the Denbighshire Youth Choir and selected schools from across the county will perform in the production of Benjamin Britten’s ‘Noye’s Flood’, directed by Clare Williams and Mervyn Cousins. The performance is a modern day twist on the story of Noah and his Ark.
The opera features Terry Waite, who is the Eisteddfod Patron in the main role of God, with pupils from the county’s youth choir and from Ysgol Christchurch (Rhyl), Ysgol Gymraeg y Gwernant (Llangollen), Ysgol Glyndyfrdwy, Ysgol Caer Drewyn (Corwen) and Ysgol Carrog taking to the stage.
Schools from other parts of North Wales and from Liverpool will also take part.
The performance will be staged during an evening performance at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod on Thursday, 7 July.
