Young artists inspired by a Welsh Master are to see their work go on display at the National Library of Wales.
Years 5 and 6 pupils at Manorbier Primary School have been studying the life and work of Sir Kyffin Williams this term.
Now their work inspired by the famous landscape artist is to be exhibited in a special exhibition at Aberystwyth this summer.
“I’m so proud of them, it’s a real feather in our cap,” said Headteacher Jackie Greenhouse. “The paintings they have produced would grace any wall.
“The National Library invited us to contribute to their exhibition as they were so impressed with the knowledge, interest and behaviour of the children on a recent trip there.”
The school has been holding an exhibition of the pupils’ work this week before it is taken to Aberystwyth for the summer display.
Born in 1918, Kyffin Williams was one of the most popular and renowned Welsh artists of his time. When he died in 2006 much of his estate, including some of own work as well as work by other artists, was acquired by the National Library of Wales.
