Householders in the Caerphilly county borough who are getting into the festive spirit by illuminating their homes with Christmas lights can proudly put their locations on the map this year.
Staff at the Visit Caerphilly Tourist Information Centre are asking everyone putting up lights outside their homes or business to join in the `Great Christmas Switch-On’ tour. All you have to do is email your name, address and a postcode and we will `plot’ your location on Google maps and on our website. Email Visit Caerphilly with your details.
Visitors and residents will then be able to use the map to see where the lights are located across the county borough this festive season.
Martin Cook, Visitor Centre Manager, said: “It’s a fun way of joining together all the residents and business who put up lights every year. We often get people visiting Caerphilly during the Christmas period asking about the lights and where they are – as do many of the residents.
He added: “Visit Caerphilly also has a Twitter feed and Facebook Group which we will be updating so this is a brilliant way of sharing up-to-the-minute news and details about events happening in the tourist information centre or further afield in the borough.”
